New for 2010 - we are now working with a new partner agency in Provence offering a wide range of superb properties.  Our partners have three offices in the Var department, covering a wide area and range of property. The Var takes its name from the river Var, which used to flow along its eastern boundary but which now flows into the Mediterranean further to the east.  The Var is know for the harbour of Toulon, the main port of the French Navy; for its seaside resorts, the most famous of which is Saint Tropez; for some fine examples of Romanesque and medieval architecture such as Le Thoronet Abbey and Frejus cathedral; and for its wines, particularly those from Bandol, one of the oldest vineyards in France (the first vine having been planted here 2,500 years ago by the Romans !)

Mediterranean beaches are about an hour away, skiing about 1.5 hours.  Nearest airports are at Toulon (the largest city and administrative capital of the Var) about 95kms, and Nice, about 125kms.  There is a new TGV station at Muy.
