This splendid Chateau, with a hotel and holiday accommodation, sits in an elevated position with superb views over the surrounding countryside – mostly vineyards (for cognac and pineau), sunflowers, maize and woodland. The property is crossed by a small river, and there are lakes etc. within about 5/6 kms for water sports, fishing etc. The property is set in about 8.3 acres of land, part of which is suitable for building.
Constructed from local stone (appreciated as far back as Roman times and exported worldwide) the property was constructed on the site of an ancient villa, and the chateau is a superb example of the architectural style of this region. The Chateau has retained its 12th and 13th century towers (and four level dungeons) in what is considered to be an exceptional condition.
All the bedrooms have a WC and bath or shower room. 38 of the bedrooms have oil central heating, the rest have electric heating. They are all ready to occupy, and most have cable TV and telephone.
